Located in the heart of Minho, Casa Lata – Agrotourism sits on a 3.6-hectare rural property in Amares, between Braga and the Peneda-Gerês National Park. Once a traditional Minho farmhouse, it preserves the memory of agricultural life through elements such as the granary, wine press, alembic, and numerous traditional tools. The décor maintains the charm of earlier times, highlighted by the former winery, now the living room, where the original stone “lagar” still remains.
In this setting that blends tradition with countryside life, a modern winery now produces wines from the native grape varieties of the Vinhos Verdes region, grown between the Cávado and Homem rivers. The experience begins with a guided visit to the estate and the winery, offering insight into the history, terroir, and identity of the property.
The program concludes with a tasting of three wines, paired with a board of cheeses and homemade jams, celebrating the flavors and authenticity of the region.
Enjoy the warm hospitality of Casa Lata, in perfect harmony with nature.
