Quintas de Melgaço

Arriving in the Northwest of Portugal, you will find Quintas de Melgaço, which congregates all the interests of the region, local people, with roots in Melgaço. A development engine in a corner of the Minho that half the world already knows.

In the basin of the Minho river, in the most northerly region of the country, one of the most special nectars, Alvarinho, was born.

Sprouting from a white grape variety, with small bunches and small berries, it is also in the stories that surround it that it has evolved and assumed itself as a difference.

Taken care of by over five hundred small Melgaço producers, shareholders of Quintas de Melgaço, protagonists and promoters of the region and its growth, is the Alvarinho de Melgaço, the faithful depository of historical knowledge that passes from hand to hand, from grape variety to grape variety, from generation to generation.

As such, Quintas de Melgaço was the first company in the wine sector to be certified by the Norm ISO 22000:2005 (food security) and tends to establish itself in the market by the origin, quality, image, and innovation of its products.
