Located in Tomar, in the Tejo Wine Region, Adega da Gaveta belongs to the Margaval Vinhos company. The name "Adega da Gaveta" came about in honor of grandfather Zé. It used to be the custom in these more rural areas for friends to get together on the weekend and visit each other's wineries. When this happened at the Margarido winery, there was always something to snack on in the drawer of the wooden table, which remains today.
The brand focuses on organic production so that there is minimal intervention, both in the field and in the winery, expressing the Tejo region and the Tomar sub-region in an authentic way, and its ideology is that the wine should reflect what the grape gives.
We invite you on a journey from the vineyard to the table. The experience begins with a Defender Jeep ride to the vineyards, allowing close contact with the landscape and the territory. Here a bottle of wine from the visited parcel will be presented, and the history of the project, the philosophy of minimal intervention production, and the viticulture practices adopted will be shared. After the tour of the vineyards, in the winery, you will take part in a guided tasting of 5 bottled wines, during which the production methods will be explained. The tasting is accompanied by a platter of regional products, including cheeses, charcuterie, olive oil, and other flavors representative of the region.
Finally, you'll have the opportunity to enjoy a traditional meal (lunch or dinner), consisting of lamb, cooked slowly in a clay pot by the fire, and typical sweets from the region. If you don't like or can't eat lamb, get in touch and we will arrange other options.
