Quinta do Sampayo
Quinta do Sampayo has been a property of the Agroseber Group since 1995. It is located in the Municipality of Cartaxo, in the Union of Parishes of Cartaxo and Vale da Pinta, less than an hour from Lisbon.
Quinta do Sampayo's historical roots date back to 1718, and wine has been produced since then.
Quinta do Sampayo is an extensive agricultural property covering approximately 90 hectares, of which 55 are dedicated to planting vineyards and 11 to olive groves. Within this vast area, various grape varieties stand out, chosen individually and meticulously, perfectly adapted to soil and climate conditions, such as Touriga Nacional, Aragonez, Trincadeira, Castelão, Syrah and Alicante Bouschet in the red varieties, Arinto and Fernão Pires in white grape varieties. The olive grove is made up of a thousand and one centuries-old Galician olive trees.
In our aging cellar, dedicated to improving the quality of wines, we house hundreds of French and American oak barrels. This careful process helps to enrich the flavorful and aromatic structure of our wines, giving them not only greater longevity, but also a unique complexity.
The current winery, two stainless steel presses with mechanical treading and four Vinimatics, combines tradition and technology. It has the capacity to vinify all the grapes produced at Quinta do Sampayo, being able to ferment 232,000 L of must, store 460,000 L of wine and has a filling line that guarantees the highest standards of quality in every bottle.
