Quinta da Atela

Quinta da Atela, situated in Alpiarça, on the south shore of the Tejo river, was created in 1346 by the Counts of Ourém and donated to the Convento da Graça de Santarém dos Agostinhos Calçados, at the time still known as Quinta da Goucha. Quinta da Atela has now 580 hectares, where the vineyards cover an area of 130 hectares and VALGRUPO produces its own wines, cattle and develops activities with festive events and wine tourism activities.

At Quinta da Atela there are spaces for social and leisure events, product and service launches, business meetings, conferences, gathering of friends and family, study trips, or tourism.

The main activity focuses on wine production with high potential grape varieties, adapted to the soil and climate of the property, providing the wines with the best of the essence of the vineyards, the terroir and Ribatejo.

This project of Quinta da Atela has its roots in a historical passion of producing regional wine from Tejo. Nowadays, we propose to expand the products and aim to make these brands a national reference in the production of wines of undoubted quality. VALWINE is the wine brand of VALGRUPO, a Quinta da Atela selection. This area is also of great importance for the context and understanding of Ancient History and Proto-History, as there are diggings and archaeological studies being carried out at Quinta da Atela - Cabeço da bruxa.

Our wines are the fruit of the experience and historical heritage of this property and the commitment of the modern and bold winemaking project we develop every day, where the latest technologies are connected to the tradition of the winemaking process. We have high quality wines, producing grapes and wine from several varieties such as Chardonnay, Fernão Pires, Sauvignon Blanc, Gewurztraminer, Arinto, Pinot Noir, Trincadeira Preta, Alicante Bouschet, Caladoc, Aragonez, Syrah, Touriga Nacional, Cabernet, Petit Verdot and Castelão.

These wines express the essence of the Ribatejo region, suitable for immediate consumption or to store, being excellent options for the most demanding gastronomic events.
