Manzwine - Growing & Learning

The Manzwine project was born out of the historical and wine-growing revival of Cheleiros and the Jampal grape variety, which had almost become extinct and is used to make the exclusive Dona Fátima, the only wine in the world made from 100% Jampal grapes.

The visit begins at the Old Wine Press, with an overview of the history of the village and the project. This is followed by the museum, where the terroir of the Lizandro valley and its influence on the characteristics of the wines are explained, as well as an exhibition of archaeological pieces and traditional instruments. The visit continues in the winery, where the harvesting and winemaking methods are presented, ending in the old school, now a barrel room, where wood aging is discussed.

At the end, take part in a premium tasting of six wines, including one Reserve, accompanied by regional bread from Mafra and extra virgin olive oil, in an experience designed for those who seek to deepen their knowledge and appreciate wines more fully.
