ManzWine
To visit ManzWine is to come to the discovery of a white grape variety, which was believed to be extinct.
It means participating in the recovery of this Portuguese grape variety and understanding the importance of thousands of geological years in the freshness and mineral content of these wines.
It all started when André Manz moved with his family to Cheleiros and a neighbour sold him an old, abandoned vineyard where the winemakers found the almost extinct Jampal grape, from which we make Dona Fátima, the only 100% Jampal wine in the world.
Today we are a boutique winery, 30 minutes from Lisbon, in Cheleiros, a small town in the municipality of Mafra, with over 800 years of history
linked to family winemaking.
Besides Premium wines, the Manzwine project brought back to life, this almost forgotten history. And in that sense, we have been recovering historical buildings of the town, such as the old primary school and an old wine press, where today we have the barrel room, the wine shop and the museum centers.
To visit ManzWine is to go through the history of a medieval village, where the kings of Portugal stayed overnight on their journey to Tapada de
Mafra and, to taste wines full of freshness, with their own characteristics, among them, a rare and unique wine, the Dona Fátima.
We are waiting for you!
