Quinta de São Sebastião

Dating back to the 18th century, the Quinta de S. Sebastião, located in Arruda dos Vinhos, Lisbon Region, has a reference in its Portuguese manor house and a secular hermitage, about which stories of pilgrimages and miracles have been told since immemorial times, in the period before 1755.

The combination of mild climate factors, sunny slopes, geographical location, proximity to the sea, mountain protection and, of course, the people who live and take care of Quinta de S. Sebastião's land and vineyards every day, give body to the rebirth of wines with a characteristic freshness and a very own identity.

Quinta de S. Sebastião presents an ideal terroir which guarantees the quality of the most varied castes and if, to the natural factors, we add the care and respect we give them, we obtain the perfect fruit which opens the doors to the creation of exclusive wines, serving the most demanding and rigorous selection criteria. Therefore, for our red wines, the fruit choices fell on a set of national and foreign grape varieties, the French red varieties Syrah and Merlot and the Portuguese Touriga Nacional and Tinta Roriz (aragonês). For the white varieties, the choice was for the national Arinto and Cercial. Although in 2007 the first harvest did not meet the demands, in 2008 the result was the rebirth of wines with a strong identity.

We invite you to visit Quinta de S. Sebastião, to learn about its history, and on a journey through time, you can appreciate the architecture of the 18th century building, visit the Chapel, the Cellar and take a walk through the Vineyard, discover the Mine and the Riding Arena.
