About the Activity
With origins in the 17th century, Quinta do Carmo, also known as Herdade das Carvalhas, was built by King João IV for a lady of his court and quickly became known for the production of wine, olive oil, cork, and livestock. Located in Aldeia da Glória, in Estremoz, it is now the most advanced winemaking center of the Bacalhôa Group, where tradition and innovation blend smoothly.

The estate spans 1000 hectares of vineyards, olive groves and cork oak forest. During the private guided tour, visitors explore the modern winery, with an annual capacity of 3.5 million litres, and learn about the production of wines from the Alentejo region. The tour also includes the Magical Mountains Garden, created in 2015, where contemporary art merges with the landscape and the iconic Estremoz marble.

The experience concludes with a guided tasting of two wines, paired with estate-produced olive oil. A perfect opportunity to discover the elegance and identity of Quinta do Carmo.
