Quinta de Marrocos - Douro Harvest Day

Guarded by its emblematic twin cypresses, the Quinta de Marrocos is a family wine estate that has been in the Galante Correia Sequeira family for generations. It is located on the left bank of the River Douro, in the Baixo Corgo region, the origin of the Demarcated Port Wine Region, and is one of the oldest estates in the Douro. With vineyards extending up to 180 meters in altitude, on terraces supported by "dry stone walls", the wine estate produces famous Douro and Port wines. 

Take part in the Quinta de Marrocos harvest program, a real adventure for those who want to experience something new during the harvest season. You'll learn about the history of the property and the importance of the harvest in winemaking. You'll then follow the main stages of the process, such as grape selection, pressing and fermentation. Furthermore, you'll have the opportunity to tread grapes, following an ancient tradition. 

At the end, you'll savour a Chef's lunch, where, as well as experiencing a delicious meal, you'll taste, in the company of the owner, a careful selection of Port wines. The lunch will be prepared by Chef Isabel and will be a true testament to respect for the roots and a dive into traditional recipes, that reflect the country's heritage.
