Adega Cooperativa de Favaios has been one of the most prestigious wineries in Portugal since 1952. The spirit of comparativism of its 550 associates, allied to the knowledge of the “people of Favaios”, has boosted the production of the Moscatel Galego Branco variety, making Moscatel de Favaios one of the most emblematic Portuguese wines.

Favaios is synonymous with muscatel, and muscatel is synonymous with Adega de Favaios.

Located in the heart of the "Winegrowing Village" in the demarcated wine region of Douro, the Favaios winery has made it its mission to echo the voices and traditions of other times through a wine tourism programme that binds the past with the present. Therefore, it offers guided tours with wine tastings to the winery and the cellars. The guided visit to the winery has both entertaining and informative components. It is our goal to show how to make Moscatel de Favaios in a relaxed environment, located in one of the most beautiful and remote regions of the old world, the Douro.
