Quinta da Pedra Alta

Quinta da Pedra Alta is located in the heart of the Douro Valley, in the Cima Corgo sub-region. As is traditional in the Douro, all our wines are blends. We currently produce a variety of white, red and Port wines, which we consider to be the most faithful interpretation of the land.

We are the only Quinta that still maintains three of these hallmarks of quality to date. We believe they are an integral part of our identity, and this is reflected in our logo.

We are the new owners of this land and feel strongly that it is our mission to create and share our personal interpretation, producing wines that we believe offer the best expression of this unique land. This is what we call ‘terroir’ (territory): the combination of a place and its people.

On a visit to Pedra Alta, you can see for yourself the 35 hectares of terraced vineyards with schist soils and small terraces with different soils, the infinite variety of grapes (some over 30 years old), and the steep slopes that start with a breathtaking view at 550 metres and descend to the river at 230 metres. These are the natural tools we have that contribute to everything from the quality of the fruit to the balanced, fresh wines and Ports that João and Matt create.
