Casa Ermelinda Freitas - Visit & Caramela Soup

With over 100 years of family history, Casa Ermelinda Freitas is a benchmark in wine production in the Setúbal region.

The visit begins on the estate, where you will explore vineyards planted with 29 grape varieties and learn about both traditional and modern winemaking. It also includes the Gold Room, displaying the winery’s highest awards, and the cellars with around 3,000 barrels.

You will then visit the House of Memories and Affections, the family’s former winery, where the history of the estate is reveale, from bulk wine sales in 1920 to the launch of the first brand in 1997. Agricultural tools, old lagares, and harvest traditions complete the journey. The experience ends with a tasting of five wines paired with regional products, followed by the traditional Sopa Caramela, served with meat and charcuterie.
