From this natural viewpoint, Miguel Torga’s words come to life: “It is not a landscape the eyes contemplate; it is an excess of nature.” Quinta das Escomoeiras unfolds across terraced slopes and forested hills, a peaceful haven on the banks of the Tâmega River, where the Minho countryside reveals its purest charm.
The estate thrives in harmony with the land, with vineyards and an organic garden cultivated without herbicides, using sustainable farming methods. Here, visitors feel the aroma of the vines, learn about the winemaking process, and taste the authentic character of this terroir.
The experience includes a 2 km walk through the property, visiting the vineyards, the stables, home to Julieta, the Mirandese donkey, and Sereia, the Lusitano mare, as well as the organic garden, the forest, and the Tâmega riverside.
The tour concludes with a light self-service lunch prepared with produce from the estate: caldo verde, quiches and salads, Portuguese preserves, regional cornbread, fruit salad, wines, and herbal infusions.
Quinta das Escomoeiras is a hidden gem waiting to be discovered.
