A family business, with almost 100 years of history, passed from generation to generation, Casa Ermelinda Freitas is a reference in the wines produced in the Setúbal region.
In this experience, we invite you to get to know the property and facilities, where you will discover the details of the ancient and current winemaking processes, as well as the vineyards, where 29 grape varieties are planted. You will visit the "Sala de Ouro" where the highest distinctions attributed to Ermelinda Freitas wines are displayed, as well as a small exhibition on the production of cork stoppers. During the visit, you will see about 3000 barrels in our two cellars.
After the visit, the doors of the old wine cellar of the family, now called Casa de Memórias e Afetos (House of Memories and Affection) are opened, where you can learn about the whole family and company history, which began with the selling wine in bulk in 1920, launched the first brand in 1997. The old winemaking techniques, through the agricultural utensils, the old wine presses, and some images and objects related to the regional traditions associated with the grape harvest are also unveiled.
At the end, you will take part in a commented tasting of 5 single-varietal wines, accompanied by regional products.
