Quinta dos Sentidos

There are places that capture the imagination and dazzle the senses, and the Algarve is one of them. At a time of life when you start thinking about retirement, we came to Portugal looking for a holiday place in the sun and, within ten days, fell in love with the country and with a plot of land that changed the course of our lives.

When we found it in 2005, it was nine abandoned hectares with neither water nor electricity, in a country where we knew no one and did not speak the language. Within days an idea was born, and we named it Quinta dos Sentidos.

Years of planning, building and overcoming bureaucratic obstacles followed. In 2012 it was time to plant the vineyard: we cleared the land, moved and replanted the old olive trees that still flavour our olive oils, and planted 14,000 vines by hand in our rocky ground.

Four years later, in 2016, we tasted the first Quinta dos Sentidos wine, awarded 90 Parker points, delicious and true to its place of origin.

Today, more than a decade later, Quinta dos Sentidos is our home, where we make wines, olive oils and honey, proof that following your dreams can lead to amazing things.
