Quinta do Encontro

Quinta do Encontro stands out as one of Bairrada’s most distinctive wineries, where a passion for wine meets striking contemporary architecture. Located in São Lourenço do Bairro, the estate blends naturally into the vineyard landscape, framed by the Caramulo and Buçaco mountains.

Opened in 2007 and designed by architect Pedro Mateus, the circular, wood-clad building evokes the shape of a wine barrel, while the spiral pathway inside mirrors the motion of a corkscrew. A unique bottle-shaped fireplace completes this artistic journey through the world of wine.

Spread across three floors, Quinta do Encontro includes a winery, a restaurant, a wine shop and a spacious multi-purpose area, inviting visitors to engage directly with the winemaking process, from vineyard to glass. The estate produces contemporary white, red and sparkling wines that express the character of the Bairrada region.
