Menin Douro Estates

The Menin Douro Estates is an ambitious wine development project with the aim of creating a portfolio of excellent DOC Douro wines in the mid-term. It draws on the enormous potential of the Douro, the exceptional quality of its terroir and its inspiring landscapes to produce magnificent wines that honor and enhance the historical richness of this region. The largest contiguous area of old vineyards in the Douro is an extra gem that drives and distinguishes the fulfilment of this dream.

Located in the municipality of Sabrosa, the Menin Douro Estates winery has been in operation since 2021, it has four floors, part of them underground, and is built in Quinta da Costa de Cima, where it works by gravity according to the tradition of the old Douro wine workshops. Its contemporary architecture blends harmoniously with the existing building and the Quinta's landscape.

The new winery was designed to work by gravity, eliminating the use of pumps and protecting the wine's potential, and it’s equipped with the most advanced winemaking equipment, without giving up traditional methods such as treading mills. It is an iconic building, which began vinifying in 2021.
