Aliança Underground Museum
Founded in 1927, in Sangalhos, Anadia, Bairrada region, Aliança is currently a reference point in the Portuguese wine sector and has a well-defined strategy for wine tourism.
In Aliança, it is possible to experience a new concept of wine and art, simultaneously. Being "Art, Wine and Passion" the Group's signature, Aliança sought to associate a cultural component that allows an emotional connection of the visitor with the company and its wines. In this context, the creation of a unique and differentiating museological space, the Aliança Underground Museum, developed along with the company's traditional subterranean galleries. Inaugurated on April 24, 2010, it presents nine permanent collections that deal with areas such as archaeology, ethnography, mineralogy, palaeontology, tiles, ceramics, tins and Indian culture. Inserted in the great universe of the Berardo Collection, these collections result from the constant care of the collector José Berardo, in immunizing pieces and works of art, of multiple origins and species, with sometimes historical meaning, sometimes sentimental, that derive from the most varied imaginary, in a meeting of peoples, places, beliefs, and cultures, in perfect symbiosis with the wines, sparkling wines and grappa’s produced by the company.
Nevertheless, to complement the tourist offer, Aliança reserves for the visitor wine and food surprises. The different tastings and dining rooms, with modernity, without forgetting glamour and tradition, are the ideal spaces to celebrate a special occasion, surrounded by friends or family, as well as for wine challenges, lunches or dinners.
The good Portuguese gastronomy is not forgotten. Aliança highlights the flavours of 1 out of 7 Wonder of Portuguese gastronomy, Leitão da Bairrada, as well as the famous Ovos Moles (typical sweet) from Aveiro, among other delicacies, always accompanied by the best Aliança wines, sparkling wines, and Portuguese grappa.
