Quinta do Carmo – Visit & Premium Wine Tasting

With origins dating back to the 17th century, Quinta do Carmo, also known as Herdade das Carvalhas, was built by King João IV for a lady of his court and soon became an important estate for wine, olive oil, cork, and livestock production. Located in the village of Glória, in Estremoz, it is now the most advanced winemaking center of the Bacalhôa Group, where tradition and innovation come together in true Alentejo style.

Covering 1000 hectares of vineyards, olive groves and cork oak forest, the estate offers a rich and varied landscape. During the private guided tour, visitors explore the modern winery, with an annual capacity of 3.5 million liters, and learn about the production of the region’s renowned Alentejo wines. The experience also includes a visit to the Magical Mountains Garden, created in 2015, where contemporary art blends with the landscape and the famous Estremoz marble.

The visit ends with a guided tasting of five premium wines, paired with estate-produced olive oil. A perfect opportunity to discover the elegance and identity of Quinta do Carmo.
