About the Activity
Guarded by its emblematic twin cypresses, the Quinta de Marrocos is a family wine estate that has been in the Galante Correia Sequeira family for generations. It is located on the left bank of the River Douro, in the Baixo Corgo region, the origin of the Demarcated Port Wine Region, and is one of the oldest estates in the Douro. With vineyards extending up to 180 meters in altitude, on terraces supported by "dry stone walls", the wine estate produces famous Douro and Port wines. 

Come and explore a wine estate with an incomparable history, where you can enjoy an impressive panoramic view over the Douro river and discover the Douro and its traditions. We invite you to get to know Quinta de Marrocos, on a guided tour to the vineyards, wine press and winery, where the history of the property, the vineyards, and the winemaking process will be explained. At the end, you'll take part in a tasting of 2 wines in the tasting room, an old farmhouse kitchen.

Il s’en est fallu de peu pour que nous puissions la faire cependant parce qu’ils ont dit ne pas avoir été informés de notre visite. Heureusement, il était présent et nous avons pu en profiter. Anna provided a detailed explanation of the history, location and wine making process of this independent wine and port maker. We even spoke with the owner at the end of the tour, who provided additional information and context. We tasted several wines and two ports made at the Quinta, all of excellent quality.     “Very Personal Experience” The experience was exceptional with Cesar spending over 2 hrs with our group of 4. The history and details he shared about his property and the explanation of his process was exceptional.
    Our group found the wine and port products to be real good.
    We visited 5 Quintas over our 2 day visit to the Douro Valley, and we place this tour/tasting at the top of our list.
