About the Activity
Quinta da Pacheca, located in Lamego, is one of the Douro region’s most emblematic estates, known for its strong connection to tradition and the distinctive character of this historic wine valley. Surrounded by century-old vineyards, granite “lagares” and terraced landscapes, the estate offers an authentic setting to discover the essence of the Douro.

The activity begins with a guided tour of the vineyards and main production areas, including the “lagares”, the winery, the cellar, and the shop. At the end of the tour, guests enjoy a guided tasting of four wines, two DOC Douro and two Port Wines, paired with a cheese and sweets board featuring two types of cheese, a mini chocolate petit gâteau, homemade jam, crackers and dried fruits. A pairing designed to enhance the aromatic and flavor profile of each wine.

A sensory experience that brings together authenticity, tradition and the unmistakable flavors of the Douro.

    “Beautiful winery- come to take photos, forget the tasting.” This is a lovely winery to visit and take a lot of photos or perhaps stay at the hotel. The tour may be informative for those who have no idea about Douro or the port wine making process however it felt like a very 'rehearsed' speech with an arrogant guide. Not quite my style. Still wines were average, port wines were amazing but of course we were only given some of the best to try- the vintage ruby and a 40yr old tawny. The only 'petiscos' given were a handful of plain dry crackers so that was disappointing and certainly false advertising as the photo shows a cheese board. Chloe, 10 jul 2024
