Torre de Palma

Torre de Palma Wine Hotel, a 5-star hotel, was born at the heart of the upper Alentejo, not far from Vaiamonte (a small village), in Monforte. Inspired by history and the Alentejo way of life, this project merges the tradition with modernity and has the wine and the Lusitano horse as motto.

With 19 rooms, winery, restaurant, SPA, horse riding arena, organic vegetable garden, among others, this project intends to valorize the Alto Alentejo, the Lusitano horse and the wine, according to their mentors, Ana Isabel and Paulo Barradas Rebelo.

A signature project, this boutique hotel was designed by architect João Mendes Ribeiro and decorated by Rosarinho Gabriel. Inspired by the lifestyle of the distinguished Basilii family (former inhabitants of the nearby Torre de Palma Roman ruins), and Alentejo traditions, the hotel was conceived to be your home in this region of southern Portugal.

Strongly anchored in a wide range of experiences, the stay intends to take the guest to find out the secrets of the genuine Alentejo, through organic farming workshops, dinners with wine pairing, grape harvest, wine tastings, star-gazing, horses ride, birdwatching, walking and bicycle tours, among others.

The magical winery is Torre de Palma’s ex-libris and the symbol of the hotel’s wine culture. The wine is highlighted with the oenologist Duarte Deus signature. In addition to an extensive vineyard area, there is also a room filled with wine barrels, a wine tasting room, wine production area and numerous leisure and cultural activities organized around Alentejo wines.
