Quinta do Souvall

The Ferraz Family has been producing wine for as long as we can remember.

Our vineyards are our most valuable heritage, located in the village of Vale Flor, in the heart of inland Portugal. We cultivate around 22 hectares of typically Portuguese grape varieties — most of them over 50 years old, with some newer plantings enriching our terroir.

At an average altitude of 600 to 700 meters, with granite soils and a unique microclimate, our vineyards produce grapes with distinctive character and exceptional quality.

Five years ago, we took a major step: we bottled our first wines. Before that, we built a new winery and brought together a dedicated team, including an experienced winemaker trained at one of Portugal’s most prestigious universities and deeply connected to the Beira Interior Wine Region.

Today, we produce red, white, rosé, and sparkling wines with the Beira Interior Designation of Origin, averaging 40,000 liters of red wine, 40,000 liters of white and 5,000 liters of rosé per year. We personally oversee every stage of the winemaking process — which means each vintage is different, but always true to our standards of quality.

This project was born from the desire to honor the hard work and legacy of our ancestors. Although our main profession is dentistry, winemaking has become a rewarding journey, filled with purpose and passion.
