Quinta de Santiago
Quinta de Santiago is located to the northwest of Portugal, in the Demarcated Region of the Vinhos Verdes, more concretely in the sub-region of Monção and Melgaço.
Rich in hydrographic resources, and protected by a set of hills and valleys that create the conditions of precipitation, temperature and necessary hours of sun to ripen the grapes of the Alvarinho variety, in a better way, allowing the excellence of DOC Alvarinhos with unique qualities in the world.
Quinta de Santiago has been in the family since 1899. In 2009, determination and passion for wine of children and grandchildren and then owner, the grandmother “Mariazinha”, was born the Quinta de Santiago project, the “boutique winery”.
A family project embraced by three generations of the Santiago family, associating the tradition and knowledge of the older generation with the modernity and enthusiasm of the younger generation, in the creation of authentic wines that expressed the characteristics of the terroir and, at the same time, reflected the personality of this Portuguese native grape variety that is Alvarinho.
For this reason, they rely on a small Alvarinho production as a state of mind and a business idea, focused on quality. A philosophy that allows knowing and control passionately all the moments of grape and wine production, each vine, each bottle, ensuring a unique and carefully created product until the packaging.
The Quinta de Santiago’s wines are full of stories, and they pretend to be, more than a wine, an experience, a moment of sharing.
The commitment to exclusivity and modernity, in the right knowledge and technology and the human part, composed by young people attentive to the requirements of the most demanding consumers, leads us to present a range of differentiated and with great quality products.
