About the Activity
Embark on a captivating day trip from Lisbon to the historic city of Évora and the picturesque Alentejo wine region, a land of rolling plains, sunlit vineyards, and timeless traditions. This journey through Portugal's cultural and rural heritage promises a perfect blend of history, architecture, and gastronomy.

Start your adventure with a guided walking tour of Évora, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with over 2,000 years of history. As you walk through its cobbled streets, you'll step back in time to find the city's most emblematic landmarks. Marvel at the Roman Temple, a remarkably preserved relic of Évora's ancient Roman era and a testament to the city's illustrious past. A visit to the hauntingly beautiful Capela dos Ossos offers a deeply reflective experience. This fascinating chapel, adorned with thousands of human bones and skulls, bears the chilling inscription: ‘We, the bones that are here, await yours.’ It is a work of art and a poignant reminder of the fleeting nature of life.

As you stroll through Évora's charming streets, discover vibrant shops offering various local handicrafts. From intricate hand-painted ceramics and cork products to traditional Alentejo textiles, these handmade creations embody the region's rich cultural identity and meticulous craftsmanship.

After exploring Évora, head to the heart of the Alentejo wine region, known for its world-class wines and idyllic landscapes. Visit a prestigious wine estate, where a guided tour of the winery and cellar reveals the secrets of the Alentejo's winemaking traditions. Learn about the region's unique terroir, grape varieties, and production techniques, which contribute to the complexity and character of Alentejo wines. Finish your visit with a wine tasting, savoring the flavors of the reds, whites, and rosés that capture the essence of this exceptional region.

This full-day excursion offers an enriching experience, combining the historical wonders of Évora with the exquisite flavors of the Alentejo. You'll return to Lisbon with a deeper appreciation of Portugal's enduring history, vibrant culture, and celebrated wine heritage.

“Nice tour with great tastings” Our guide was very knowledgeable and really did her best to accommodate the needs of the group, which was obviously difficult, with so much history to explain. Great walk through Évora, the churches and learning a lot about the architecture and history of the region. we love the 3 course meal with wine. The wine tasting / tour was super interesting.
