Nature, history and men have forged the culture and values of the Douro. To keep alive its landscape and its reputation, we work in the time-honoured way of respect for traditions and heritage. We integrate the notions of sustainable development in every step of our production, and the energy consumed by our cellar is produced from renewable sources. We work without respite and do all we can to perpetuate the creation of authentic wine-making masterworks.

Situated in the very heart of the estate, the Pessegueiro cellar is distinguished by its architecture, which stems from the functions of the building and above all the particular wine-making method that it houses.

The building rises over five levels and combines traditional methods for making high quality wine with the most sophisticated equipment.
A real technological challenge, our cellar was designed to use the natural gravity throughout the entire process that turns the grape into wine.
To preserve and respect the wine to the maximum, the use of pumps has been completely prohibited on the entire course from the receipt of the grapes to the barrel storage house, via the vinification in the tanks. We even have a lift tank that connects the different levels for the exceptional movements during the processing. This process exclusively by gravity ensures a smooth treatment that is respectful of the wine.

We are proud to grow our vines in the Douro and to develop an activity that preserves both its cultural heritage and its living landscape.
