Quinta do Vallado
Founded in 1716, Quinta do Vallado is one of the oldest wine estates in the Douro Valley. Located on the banks of the Corgo river near Peso da Régua, the estate has deep roots in the Ferreira family, with a direct link to the legacy of Dona Antónia Adelaide Ferreira, the celebrated "Ferreirinha" who shaped the region in the 19th century.
The property combines centuries-old tradition with modernity. The contemporary winery, designed by architect Francisco Vieira de Campos, blends with the original buildings to deliver one of the most sophisticated wine tourism experiences in the Douro. The vineyards, planted with grape varieties such as Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca and Tinta Roriz, stretch across schist slopes facing the rising sun.
Among the reference wines are Vallado Reserva, Vallado Touriga Nacional, Vallado Adelaide (a tribute to Ferreirinha) and the Vintage Ports. The estate is recognised for the consistency and elegance of its red wines.
The wine tourism experience includes cellar visits, vineyard walks, tastings of Port and DOC Douro wines, and meals featuring local produce. Vallado also offers boutique accommodation at its Wine Hotel overlooking the Corgo river, ideal for an immersive stay in the world's oldest demarcated wine region.
