Fernão Pó

Fernão Pó Adega is a family business located in the plain of Fernando Pó, resulting from the combination of the Freitas and Palhoça families, linked to viticulture and wine production for several generations.

Since its foundation in the 1950s by Aníbal da Silva Freitas, the winery has grown linked to the region's wine tradition. At the time, Fernando Pó was a pilgrimage point for families from all over the country, who sought the best wines to supply themselves all year round, shared stories and snacks. And they'd be friends. It is this genuineness that the Fernão Pó Winery makes a point of maintaining.

The microclimate temperate by the Tejo and Sado rivers protects and facilitates the perfect maturation of the grapes.
And it includes social and environmental concerns, such as the addition of the Wine in Moderation and Business and Biodiversity programs, in addition to producing environmentally certified grapes.

In 1990, we launched the first private brand wine. Today we produce about 660,000 litres of 70 ha wines of our own vineyards.
