Al-Lagar

Casa Santos Lima is a 5th generation family business, born at the end of the 19th century, dedicated to the production, bottling, and commercialization of Portuguese wines. Present in the wine-growing regions of Lisbon, the Algarve, Alentejo, Dão, Douro, Vinhos Verdes and the Azores, it produces wines known for their excellent quality, exporting around 90 percent of its total production to more than 60 countries on five continents.

With a broad wine portfolio, it produces red, white, rosé, sparkling, semi-sparkling, light and late harvest wines every year in 7 different regions. In recent years it has been one of the most awarded Portuguese producers in the most reputable national and international wine competitions and is one of the main exporters of Portuguese wine.

Situated at the gates of Tavira, between the richness of our local vineyards and the sea, is a century-old, unique and truly authentic site. An old wine press from the 80s of the 19th century, meticulously restored to be a distinctive place dedicated to wine lovers. Here you can enjoy commented wine tastings, light wine pairing meals, visits to the vineyards and purchase our wines. At Al-Lagar we offer a memorable and authentic experience of the region.

With our own vineyards planted in this area, which benefit from a Mediterranean climate with maritime influence and rich soils, creating conditions for a diversity of red and white grape varieties. With a total of 18 grape varieties planted on around 60 hectares, each variety makes a unique contribution to the creation of our Algarve wines.
