Adega D'Arrocha
Our family project is based on bold and enterprising life experiences, such as that of José Paulo Rato and Helena Alexandre.
With their early lives linked to agriculture, Master José Paulo ventured out for more than 30 years to work in distant fishing in Africa. He returned in 2010 with the desire to preserve the tradition of looking after the vineyards and producing wine, a legacy left by his father João Alexandre Rato.
This passion continues to infect all members of the family, particularly the children Vera and Ricardo Rato, who inherited the love of farming and vineyards passed down from an early age by their grandparents, João Rato and Adelino Carlota. From this inheritance and enthusiasm, the family business Arribas & Parcelas was created, with the dedication of winemaker Ricardo Guimarães.
In 2018, the first wines were produced in João Rato's old winery, as a result of the acquisition of new land and the planting of new vines.
With the increase in production, the creation of a new winery becomes implicit, one that can also accommodate all those who are curious and interested in tasting our wines and enjoying the beautiful countryside and sea landscapes that surround us.
In 2021, the dream materializes with the start of construction of the "Adega D'Arrocha", with a capacity of 300,000 liters and a wine tourism offer.
