In this 10-hour tour, we will visit the oldest Demarcated Region of the World (1756), which was considered a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2001 - the Douro region. Our day will begin in Porto. We will start the tour and head east, where the Alto Douro awaits us!
Our first stop will take you to know the history of the winery, but also how they produce and age their Port and DOC Douro wines.
We will then depart for lunch, where a menu full of flavors and aromas awaits us at a regional restaurant.
Now, with energies restored, we will visit another family wine estate where you’ll get to understand how both Douro DOC & Port wine are made, having the possibility of tasting both styles. Understand how the effects of the region's climate and rich soil influence the grapes, learn about the special storage techniques that result in these distinctive flavors, and hear about the preparation of still and fortified wines.
On the last stop in the region, we will visit a family wine estate specialized in Port wine production. With a beautiful view of the valley, we will taste the wine that made this entire region famous throughout the World.
