Located in the heart of Minho, Casa Lata – Agroturismo sits on a 3.6-hectare rural property in Amares, between Braga and the Peneda-Gerês National Park. Once a traditional farming estate, it preserves authentic elements of agricultural life, such as the granary, wine press, alembic, and various traditional tools. The décor respects this legacy, creating warm and rustic environments, including the former winery, today the living room, still marked by the original stone “lagar.”
In this atmosphere of tradition and countryside living, a modern winery now produces wines from the native grape varieties of the Vinhos Verdes region, between the Cávado and Homem rivers. The experience begins with a guided visit to the estate and the winery (whenever available).
The program concludes with a regional picnic in the estate’s outdoor spaces. You will receive a basket including a bottle of wine, bread, toast or cornbread, cheeses, cured meats, homemade jams, codfish cakes or rissóis, homemade cake, and fruit, ideal for enjoying the natural serenity of Minho.
Experience the hospitality of Casa Lata in perfect harmony with nature!
