About the Activity
The Azores Wine Company was founded by António Maçanita, Filipe Rocha, and Insula Vinus, Lda., united by their passion for wine and gastronomy. It is also a tribute to the history and heroes who shaped the vineyard landscape of Pico Island, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where thousands of stone corrals gave rise to unique wines.

Azores Wine Company’s wine tourism invites you to taste the essence of the Azores’ land and sea, in an atmosphere that reflects the region’s culture and identity.

In this experience, you will discover the most emblematic grape varieties of the Azores: Arinto dos Açores, exclusive to these islands; Terrantez do Pico, rescued from near extinction; and Verdelho, behind some of the world’s most renowned wines. A journey that highlights the uniqueness and richness of Azorean winemaking heritage.
