Quinta de Cravaz

Quinta de Cravaz, situated in the Varosa Valley in the Douro region, is a family-owned estate with over 800 years of history, passed down through the generations since 1221. More than just a wine estate, it is a true ‘Family Memory Space’, where heritage, nature and tradition come together in an authentic and unique setting.

During the tour, you can explore the various areas of the estate and discover its architectural and documentary heritage, which dates back to the 13th century. A visit to the Chapel of Nossa Senhora de Nazaré, dating from 1624, offers a remarkable example of sacred art that preserves the estate’s memory, history and identity through its magnificent tiles, paintings and gilded woodcarvings.

Amidst the sounds of nature, the water flowing from the mountains and the scents of the land, Quinta de Cravaz invites you to a sensory experience that links the past to the present. The winemaking tradition plays a central role, with wines that reflect the character of the region and a respect for nature, whilst preserving ancestral production methods.

A visit to Quinta de Cravaz is, therefore, a journey through eight centuries of history, culture and tradition, where every space tells a story and every wine reveals a little of the identity of this unique place in the Varosa Valley.
