This cycling tour invites you to discover Bairrada in an active and immersive way, riding through the vineyards of the Bairrada Wine Route, a region known as the Portuguese capital of sparkling wine. The experience begins with transportation from Coimbra to Curia, where the headquarters of the Bairrada Wine Route are located, marking the start of the guided ride.
The route is circular, covering approximately 52 kilometers with an intermediate level of difficulty, combining secondary roads and dirt paths, passing through vineyard areas, and allowing direct contact with the terroir, the vines, and local producers.
Along the way, there is a stop at a traditional winery, including a tasting of wines and sparkling wines. The experience also includes a lunch break at a local restaurant, where the region’s iconic dish, Leitão Assado à Bairrada, is served. At the end of the ride, participants return to Coimbra by van after the bicycles are loaded.
