Quinta da Avessada - Tour & Wine Tasting

The Quinta da Avessada is in the Favaios wine-growing plateau, in the heart of the Douro Demarcated Region. At an altitude of 600 meters and with 1,000 hectares of planted area, this is the highest and flattest point in the region. A vast territory where 90% of the vineyards are planted with the Muscatel Galego variety, the one that gives rise to the Moscatel de Favaios. Built mostly with native materials: wood and schist, the estate blends into the landscape as if it were part of it. Surrounded by vineyards that merge with the horizon, the sky, and the distant mountains.

Upon arrival at Quinta da Avessada, the activity begins with a visit to the Enoteca Gardens, accompanied by regional snacks, while tasting the typical white wine produced on this magnificent plateau. After taking in the stunning landscape, a guided tour of the Enoteca space follows, where you will learn about the entire traditional winemaking process of Port Wine and Muscatel in an interactive way. At the end of the visit, you will have the opportunity to refine your five senses with a Muscatel tasting.
