About the Activity
On the Alentejo Coast, at the meeting point of the Setúbal and Alentejo wine regions, you’ll find Herdade Canal Caveira. Nestled at the base of the Serra de Grândola, the estate benefits from the maritime influence of the coast and a unique microclimate that shapes the character of its wines. The property spans 45 hectares, with 25 planted to vineyards and the remainder dedicated to olive groves, citrus trees, cork oaks and pine forest.

From the IC1 road, the iconic castle-shaped house marks the entrance to vineyards that stretch across the landscape. Inside the winery, tastings unfold with panoramic views over the hills and village, revealing elegant and expressive wines born from sandy soils and significant temperature variations.

Your experience begins with a guided tour of the estate, including historical context and an explanation of the winemaking process. Afterwards, you’ll receive a basket of regional products to enjoy a traditional Alentejo picnic among the vineyards, paired with a bottle of Herdade Canal Caveira wine.
