Visiting Blandy's Wine Lodge is an opportunity to explore 200 years of Madeira wine history. Today, it is the heart of the family's wine business, where over 650 barrels and vats are stored, ageing the family's finest wines in the traditional "canteiro" method.
The Premium & Vintage visit includes passage through the old cooperage, ageing warehouses, grape to wine-themed room, Sala dos Leões (Lions Room), private Family collection, and the Blandy Family Museum.
On this tour your Blandy's guide will explain the entire process of barrel making in the old cooperage, the transformation of the grapes into Madeira wine, the Brazilian satin vats, and will guide you through a visit to the grandiose Sala dos Leões, the private collection of the Blandy Family, and finally the Museum with unique artifacts from the history of Madeira wine.
At the end of the visit, you will enjoy a tasting of 5 Madeira wines.
