Founded in 1859, Cálem is one of the most prestigious and visited Port Wine cellars in Vila Nova de Gaia, welcoming around 310,000 visitors each year from all over the world. Balancing tradition and innovation, Cálem invites guests to discover the Douro Demarcated Region and Port Wine through a modern and engaging approach.

The guided visit takes place through the active cellars and the interactive museum, where the wine cycle is presented, from soil and grape varieties to the different categories, aromas, and styles, as well as the history of Cálem. Along the route, visitors can observe the aging barrels up close and understand the unique characteristics of each type of Port Wine. The experience concludes with a guided tasting of 3 premium Port wines, offering a more profound insight into the diversity of this iconic denomination.
