On this luxury wine and food tour, designed by Portugal by Wine, we invite you to discover the Alentejo Wine Region.
The program of 2 days and 1 night includes the visit to 4 iconic Alentejo Wine Estates, where you will taste the best wines, Alentejo gastronomy and, enjoy unforgettable wine tourism experiences.
The tour starts with the pick-up at Humberto Delgado Airport, in hotels, or in the city centre of Lisbon. You will be accompanied by a chauffeur specialized in wine tourism, and the entire trip will be in a premium vehicle.
After the pick-up, the trip towards Alentejo will be full of stunning landscapes, where you will appreciate the peculiar natural beauty of this route.
Activities will begin at Herdade do Esporão. You will discover the secrets of wine production on a visit to the winery and cellars, and test your senses in a tasting with aroma exercise. The activity will begin with a visit to the cellars, where you will get to know the winemaking process of Esporão wines. Then you will explore your senses, through a commented wine tasting, where you will identify different wine profiles.
For lunch, the Chef of Herdade do Esporão, presents you a cuisine focused on the products and flavours of Alentejo and Portugal, combined with a modern confection and interpretation. Your meal will be entirely in the hands of the Chef, who will define and hold on the day a 5-Moment Tasting Menu, prepared with seasonal products, from local and national producers, closely following the cycle of each one.
After lunch, it will be time to visit João Portugal Ramos. Located in Estremoz, it is a reference in Portuguese wines. Its winery, in Vila Santa, with an Alentejo trace, joins the modern, in all the vinification technology implemented in the wine production processes, with the best Portuguese wine tradition. Currently, João Portugal Ramos is active in Alentejo, Ribatejo, Beiras, Douro and Vinho Verde. You will participate in a guided tour of the cellars and winery, which will end with a wine tasting, accompanied by regional snacks from the Alentejo.
After a day full of wine & food experiences, it will be time to stroll around and discover the charms of the city of Évora, classified by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site, heir to a rich and varied cultural heritage. Whether in the middle of the medieval streets, in the exuberance of palaces, monasteries and churches, Évora hides a charm of her own. Visit the unparalleled Chapel of bones of St. Francis Church, the famous Roman Temple, and the Cathedral. Fall in love with the history of the beautiful Giraldo de Évora Square. Step on the sidewalk and sit on a terrace. Discover all the details and secrets of the Palace of D. Manuel in Évora that tells part of the history of the city and the Portuguese kings. Walk to your liking through the streets, absorbing the secret soul that the diversity of secular cultures has settled in this city of the World.
Dinner will be at the Enoteca Cartuxa Restaurant. The cultural and wine heritage of the Eugénio de Almeida Foundation joins the legacy of Alentejo gastronomy, in the historic centre of Évora. With an architecture of clean lines, underlined by the white walls and the tones of wood and the red of the furniture, the Enoteca Cartuxa evokes the informal atmosphere of a tavern, bringing it to contemporary life. Surprise yourself by discovering the perfect harmony between the Cartuxa wines and the regional cuisine interpreted and reinvented in a current way in a dinner full of traditional Alentejo flavours, suggestion of the Chef.

The Hotel M'ar de Ar Aqueduto 5*, located in the historic centre of Évora, arises from an adaptation of the former Palace of Sepúlveda, from which preserves a magnificent chapel, vaulted ceilings and three Manueline windows on the main façade. All rooms have been decorated according to a concept of modern comfort and design notes, original furniture, soft colour composition and exquisite fabrics.
Alternatively, from the same hotel group, you will have the Hotel M'ar de Ar Muralhas 4*, also located in the historic centre of the city of Évora, near known Giraldo Square, nerve centre of this magnificent city and capital of the kingdom during the early years of the sixteenth century. Here you can enjoy the large landscaped area framed by the historic wall that provides an environment of incomparable beauty. Benefiting from this unique setting is the pool area, the terrace with a high comfort living area, taking full advantage of the famous Alentejo nights and the planetarium that forms on our heads.
2nd Day
On the second day, after a buffet breakfast at the hotel with the best regional Alentejo products, our guide will collect you and lead you through the 2nd day of this tour.
The activities begin in one of the most respected brands in Portugal, Cartuxa Winery - Quinta de Valbom. Located in Quinta de Valbom, 2 km from the historic centre of Évora and 200 metres from the Carthusian Monastery that inspired its name, Enoturismo Cartuxa is based in the former Jesuit rest home (Companhia de Jesus), who taught at the University of Évora in the 16th and 17th centuries. You will discover the history and unique surroundings of Quinta de Valbom through a guided tour of the building, where the Cartuxa Winery was founded. The activity will culminate with the tasting of 3 wines selected by the Eugénio de Almeida Foundation, accompanied by typical Alentejo snacks, such as cured meats, cheeses and jams from the region.
For lunch, we selected one of the most renowned restaurants in the city of Évora, the restaurant "5 Amêndoas", installed in the Hotel Vitória Stone, where you will enjoy a typical Alentejo lunch, with the best traditional cuisine and a touch of sophistication, on a menu suggested by the Chef.
After lunch, you will visit Fitapreta winery. Located only a few kilometres away from the city of Évora, it integrates the contemporary architecture of the winery, building, entirely covered with cork, and the medieval palace of Morgado de Oliveira (14th century). You will participate in a guided tour of the winery and the Medieval Palace, where you will learn about the history of Fitapreta and how its wines are made. At the end of the visit, you will take part in a wine tasting. This will be followed by a thematic activity, where you will be a winemaker for moments and create your own wine. The activity will be accompanied by a snacks board.
At the end of the day, it will be time to return to Lisbon, our guide will leave you in the city centre, hotels or Humberto Delgado Airport.
