About the Activity
Activities will begin at Herdade da Calada, located near Évora, in the heart of the Alentejo Wine Region, where you will contemplate a beautiful rural setting, with the vineyards and the lake, surrounded by the silence of the vast Alentejo plains. You will get to know the estate, on a guided tour, the main building, the 35 hectares of vineyards and 110 hectares of olive groves, that surround it. After the visit, you will taste participate in a wine tasting, accompanied by typical products of this region. You can also taste the olive oil produced at the estate.

After the visit, it will be time for lunch at the Enoteca Cartuxa restaurant, in the city centre of Évora. With an architecture of clean lines, underlined by the white of the walls and the wood and red tones of the furniture, the Enoteca Cartuxa evokes the informal atmosphere of a tavern, bringing it to the contemporary. Be amazed to discover the perfect harmony between the wines and the regional cuisine, interpreted and reinvented in a current way. You will enjoy a lunch full of traditional Alentejo flavours.

In the afternoon, you will visit Herdade de Coelheiros, which has been producing since 1991, some of the most emblematic wines of the Alentejo region. Its vineyards are embraced by cork oak forests, walnut orchards, pine forests, olive groves and diverse wildlife. Located in Igrejinha, municipality of Arraiolos, Herdade dos Coelheiros represents a mosaic of cultures and habitats, celebrating heterogeneity over 800 ha. The wines of Coelheiros are produced in deep connection with the earth and nature. You will have the opportunity to taste their wines, in a tasting accompanied by cured meats, regional cheeses, olive oil and bread.

After a full day of activities, it will be time to check in at the hotel. The program presents you with two suggestions, one of 5 and one of 4 stars. It's your choice.

The Hotel M'ar de Ar Aqueduto, located in the historic centre of Évora, arises from an adaptation of the former Palace of Sepúlveda, from which preserves a magnificent chapel, vaulted ceilings and three Manueline windows on the main façade. All rooms have been decorated according to a concept of modern comfort and design notes, original furniture, soft colour composition and exquisite fabrics.

Alternatively, from the same group, you will have the Hotel M'ar de Ar Muralhas, also located in the historic centre of the city of Évora, near known Giraldo Square, the nerve centre of this magnificent city and capital of the kingdom, during the early years of the sixteenth century. Here, you can enjoy the large landscaped area framed by the historic wall, that provides an environment of incomparable beauty. Benefiting from this unique setting is the pool area, the terrace, with a high comfort living area and the planetarium, that forms on our heads.

Dinner will be served in the hotel restaurant, on a menu suggested by the chef.

Day 2
After a buffet breakfast at the hotel, with the best regional products, our guide will pick you up and drive you on the 2nd day of this tour.

The activities will begin at Herdade das Servas, located in Estremoz. You will get to know the day-to-day life of one of the oldest wine-producing families in Alentejo, on a guided tour of the winery and cellars, which will end with a wine tasting, accompanied by regional snacks.

The lunch will be at João Portugal Ramos, located in Estremoz, Évora, in the heart of Alentejo. Its winery, in Vila Santa, joins the modern in all the winemaking technology implemented in the wine production processes, with the best Portuguese wine tradition. You will visit the winery and cellars, where you will have the opportunity to know the whole history of this producer, its properties and its wines. After the visit, you will enjoy a traditional Alentejo lunch, accompanied by the João Portugal Ramos wines. Then, you will participate in the activity "Winemaker for a Day", where you will create your own batch of wine and take home a bottle with a personalized label.

In the late afternoon, we will return to Évora. Dinner will be at the Divinus restaurant, part of the Convento do Espinheiro hotel, and one of the best restaurants in the city. It stands out for its traditional signature cuisine and its selection of Alentejo wines. You will enjoy a tasting menu, suggested by the Chef, harmonized with a selection of premium wines. After dinner, it will be time to return to the hotel.  

Day 3
After a buffet breakfast at the hotel, with the best regional products, our guide will collect you and drive you through the 3rd day of this tour.

The activities will start in one of the most prestigious brands in Portugal, Adega da Cartuxa. Located in Quinta de Valbom, 2 km from the historic centre of Évora and 200 metres from Cartuxa Monastery that inspired its name, Cartuxa Wine Tourism is housed in the former Jesuit rest home (Companhia de Jesus), who taught at the University of Évora in the 16th and 17th centuries. You will discover the history and unique surroundings of Quinta de Valbom, through a guided tour of the building where the Adega da Cartuxa was founded. The activity will culminate with a wine tasting, selected by the Eugénio de Almeida Foundation, accompanied by typical Alentejo snacks, such as sausages, cheeses, and jams from the region.

For lunch, we selected one of the most renowned restaurants in the city of Évora, 5 Almêndoas restaurant, installed in the Hotel Vitória Stone, where you will enjoy a gourmet lunch, with the best traditional cuisine, and a touch of sophistication, on a menu suggested by the Chef.  

During the afternoon, you will visit Herdade do Freixo, an agricultural company located in northeastern Alentejo, whose main activity is wine production with varieties of high adaptive potential to soil and climate. You will know the winery, owner of a unique architecture, built in depth in a total of 3 floors below the vineyard. At the end of the visit, you will taste some premium wines, accompanied by a board of cheeses and sausages.

In the late afternoon, it will be time to visit the Fitapreta winery. Based just a few kilometres from the city of Évora, it integrates the contemporary architecture of the winery, the building, entirely covered with cork, and the Medieval Palace of the Morgado de Oliveira (14th century). You will take part in a guided tour of the winery and the Medieval Palace, where you will learn about the history of Fitapreta and how it's wines are made. At the end of the visit, you will participate in a wine tasting. 

After the visit in Fitapreta, our chauffeur will take you to Évora city centre, where you can choose where to have dinner. The programme suggests the "Dom Joaquim" restaurant, known for its traditional cuisine, in a cosy atmosphere, where Alentejo food is combined with good wine. After dinner, it will be time to return to the hotel. 

Day 4
After a buffet breakfast at the hotel, with the best regional products, our guide will pick you up and drive you on the 4th day of this tour, which will take place in the Lower Alentejo region.

Activities will begin at Herdade da Malhadinha Nova, located in Albernôa, in the heart of the Baixo Alentejo. It is a space of freedom, which is lost in the boundless horizon, where high quality wines are produced and indigenous breeds of animals are raised, in total harmony with nature. Owner of an innovative concept in Portugal, Herdade da Malhadinha Nova offers thematic experiences, where wine and gastronomy play a fundamental role. In the winery building, the restaurant complements the experience by offering signature cuisine, inspired by typical Alentejo dishes, recreated by a Michelin-starred chef. This is the concept we invite you to discover! You will taste a menu of 4 moments, harmonized with the best Malhadinha wines. After lunch, it will be time to participate in an advanced wine tasting course, which will make you travel through the pleasure of sensory experiences and the recognition of the varieties, carefully selected for their production. 

In the afternoon, you will visit Herdade do Rocim and take part in a tasting of Talha wines. Located between Vidigueira and Cuba, with about 120 hectares, including 70 of vineyards and 10 of olive groves. Herdade do Rocim combines wine production with the aesthetic quality of the architecture of its winery, functioning as a promotional element for its wine tourism. You will take part in a guided tour of the Herdade do Rocim facilities, which will start at the winery, then move on to the terrace, where you will have a magnificent view of the vineyards, the laboratory, tasting room, wine press and shop. After the visit, you will take part in a tasting of Talha wines, accompanied by regional bread, Herdade do Rocim olive oil, toast and local biscuits.

Dinner will be at another emblematic Alentejo wine estate, Herdade dos Grous. It is a 730-hectare property, which is a calm space to relax and savour nature. In this wine-producing and agrotourism estate, only 17 kilometres away from Beja, you will enjoy a traditional meal, consisting of typical products from the Alentejo, accompanied by the estate's wines. After dinner, it will be time to return to the hotel. 

Day 5
After a buffet breakfast at the hotel, with the best regional Alentejo products, our guide will pick you up and drive you on the 5th day of this tour, which will be a trip to the Douro region.

During the journey to the Douro, which will be of extreme landscape beauty, crossing practically the entire country, our chauffeur will stop in a city of your choice where you can have lunch, in the restaurant you want. The program suggests you a stop in the city of Santarém, in the middle of the route, and lunch at the "Pigalle" restaurant, located in the historic center of the city, with a contemporary cuisine based on new flavors, creativity and good taste.

Arriving at Alto Douro Vinhateiro, you will go directly to the hotel, where dinner will be served. You will have two accommodation options:

As a 5-star option, you will have the The Vintage House Hotel. Here you will find a relaxing and cosy atmosphere, surrounded by the ancestral vineyards of the Douro region, in a calm and charming landscape, in an idyllic and quiet riverside location in Pinhão, in the true heart of the Douro Valley. The Vintage House offers its visitors one of the most unforgettable wine experiences in the Douro region.

Or, alternatively, the Vila Galé Douro Vineyards. In this 4-star hotel, you can enjoy the calm and silence, the scenery, but also the outdoor pools, the regional cuisine of the Vineyards restaurant, whose terrace allows you to admire the surroundings. With a strong wine tourism component, this unit extends over the centenary Quinta do Val Moreira, which already appeared on the famous map of the Baron of Forrester, drawn in the 19th century, which earned him the reputation of cartographer.

Day 6
After a buffet breakfast at the hotel, with the best regional products, our guide will pick you up and drive you on the 6th day of this tour.

In the Alto Douro Vinhateiro, activities will begin at Quinta da Pacheca, one of the oldest, emblematic, and known of the Douro region, located in Lamego. You will visit the vineyards, the mills, the wine cellar, and the shop, where you can purchase the wines and some gourmet products. After, you will enjoy a true combination of traditional Douro flavours, in wine and sensory experience, which will begin with a traditional cooking workshop, where you will make, with the help of Chef, a typical Douro meal.

After lunch, you will visit Quinta do Vallado, built in 1716, is one of the oldest and most famous wine estates in the Douro Valley. The new cellar and the barrel room, combines the most advanced technology with a high-quality architecture. The winery tour will take you to know all the stages of transformation through which the grapes pass, from the vineyard to the bottle. The visit also includes a passage through the stunning barrel room, where the best wines age. In the end, you will taste a selection of wines from Quinta do Vallado.

The dinner will be served at Quinta do Portal,  located in Sabrosa, Vila Real. It is a Portuguese house, family and independent that embraced with all passion the concept of "Boutique  Winery", dedicating itself to the production of DOC Douro Wines, Port wines of special categories and Moscatel. You will enjoy a traditional menu, composed of regional Douro dishes and accompanied with Quinta do Portal wines. 

After dinner, it will be time to return to the hotel. 

Day 7
After a buffet breakfast at the hotel, with the best regional products, our guide will pick you up and drive you on the 2nd day of this tour.

Activities will begin at Quinta Nova de Nossa Senhora do Carmo, a place of extreme beauty, in the heart of the Douro, municipality of Sabrosa, Vila Real. Owned by the Amorim family since 1999, it has been considered one of the 9 most beautiful wine estates to visit. You will visit the winery, built in 1764, the Wine Museum Centre, the barrel room, and the underground wine cellar, where the best lots selected by the family age. After the visit, you will enjoy  a tasting lunch, in the winery restaurant, composed of a 3 Moments menu, paired with Quinta Nova wines, selected by the winemaker.

During the afternoon, you will visit Quinta do Seixo, located in Cima-Corgo, in the heart of the Douro Demarcated. It is an old wine estate, from the 19th century. The breathtaking views are a magnificent landscape, shaped by the man on terraces and schist terraces, in surprising contrast to the brightness of the Douro River and the view of the picturesque village of Pinhão. You will enjoy a tour in the winery, cellar, and robotic wine presses, where you will know the wine production cycle and, enjoy a wine tasting, representing the three styles of Port Wine – White, Ruby, and Tawny.

The dinner, a harmonized tasting menu, will take place at DOC restaurant, a space where Chef Rui Paula, an inescapable reference of modern Portuguese cuisine, distinguished with two Michelin Stars, with a modern and inventive look, makes the kitchen a historical laboratory based on several generations of culinary recipes. The wine list, with more than 700 references, contains all the great wines that are produced in the Douro. After dinner, it will be time to return to the hotel. 

Day 8
After a buffet breakfast at the hotel, with the best regional products, our guide will pick you and driving you through the 3rd day of this tour.

Activities will start with a private boat ride on the Douro River, where you will enjoy the stunning and charming landscapes of the Douro Valley. The tour will begin at the Folgosa do Douro river pier in Armamar, where you will board a sailboat and set sail on a journey through the Douro towards Pinhão. A lunch with some regional snacks will be served on board, accompanied by wines from the region. 

Following the boat trip, in the middle of the afternoon, it will be time to make the trip to the city of Porto, where the tour will end. Our guide will take you to the drop-off location, in the city centre, hotels or at Sá Carneiro Airport.

01:30 p.m. - Tasting lunch, with wine pairing, at Quinta Nova de Nossa Senhora do Carmo;
05:00 p.m. – Visit to Quinta do Seixo, with Port wine tasting;
06:30 p.m. – Stop at the Casal de Loivos viewpoint;
08:00 p.m. – Tasting dinner, harmonized, at DOC restaurant, of the renowned Chef Rui Paula; 
10:30 p.m. – Return to the hotel.

Day 8 – Douro
10:00 a.m. – Buffet breakfast at the hotel;
11:30 a.m. – Check-out and pick-up at the hotel;
12:00 p.m. – Private boat trip in Douro river, with regional tapas lunch and wines served on board;
04:00 p.m. – Transfer to Porto;
06:00 p.m. – Drop-off at the Sá Carneiro Airport, in hotels, or in Porto city centre;
End of the tour.

Cancellation policy
Cancellation up to 30 days before the arrival date: a 5% fee will be additionally charged;
Cancellation in less than 30 days before the arrival date: 100% of the total amount will be charged;
No-show: You will be charged 100% of the total amount.
