On this luxury wine tour, designed by Portugal by Wine, we invite you to discover Lisbon & Tejo Wine Regions.
The 3-day program, includes a visit to 5 of the most prestigious Lisbon and Tejo wineries, where you will taste the best wines, gastronomy and experience unforgettable wine tourism experiences.
The program starts with the pick-up at Humberto Delgado Airport, in hotels, or in the city centre of Lisbon. You will be accompanied by a specialized wine tourism chauffeur and the entire trip will be on a premium vehicle.
The activities will begin at Quinta do Porto Nogueira, dated back to the first half of the 18th century and always been owned by the same family. Since 2004 it is a Casa Romana Vini Estate. The vineyard has been the main crop of Quinta do Porto Nogueira since 1738, where the vines extended through the valleys and plains there. You will take part in a guided tour of the facilities and winery, which will allow you to get to know all the stages of transformation, from the vineyard to the bottle. At the end, in the tasting room, with the watching of a short film, a wine and gastronomic tasting will follow, involving a tasting of 6 wines and a harmonized lunch.
After lunch, it will be time to visit Quinta do Sanguinhal, founded in 1926 by Abel Pereira da Fonseca. It is dedicated to the exploration of 3 estates in the Demarcated Region of Óbidos. You will get to know the winery on a guided tour, as well as the gardens and vineyards. You will visit the old fully recovered distillery, the old press with rod and spindle presses, dating from 1871 and the ageing cellar with 36 barrels. The visit will end with a commented tasting of 6 wines, accompanied by rusks, regional cheese and mini custard tart.
For accommodation in Lisbon, the program offers you two options. A 5* hotel or a wine estate with accommodation. Dinner will be served at the unit you choose.
You can stay overnight at the Dolce Campo Real 5*hotel, located in the middle of the Protected Landscape of Serra do Socorro and Archeira, in Torres Vedras, where you can enjoy the most attractive views of a peaceful paradise. After the first day of the tour, put on your Dolce robe and slippers and relax in one of the modern rooms. Guests can work out in the 24-hour gym, relax at the Spa Water Circuit or one of the outdoor or indoor pools. For dinner, enjoy exclusive dishes created by Chef. With seasonal menus and a refined atmosphere, Dolce Campo Real is the place to taste Portuguese cuisine.
Alternatively, you can stay at the Wine Hotel da Quinta da Lapa 4*, located in the municipality of Azambuja, where you can experience a real rural getaway, always accompanied by the best wines. The estate has more than 300 years of tradition of producing high quality wines. You will enjoy a night in a double room.
Day 2
After a buffet breakfast at the hotel with the best regional products, our guide will pick you up and drive you on the 2nd day of this tour.
The morning will be spent at Quinta da Chocapalha, where agriculture is seen as an activity of great nobility and that values all who embrace this project. The visit will begin with a short walk through the vineyards, where the story of the Tavares da Silva family will be told and where the viticulture process will be explained. You will pass through the cellar and the barrel room, where the winemaking process will be explained. Finally, a tasting of 4 wines, accompanied by regional products, and a typical lunch, a great opportunity to taste the local wines.
After lunch, it will be time to visit Quinta do Monte d'Oiro. Known, since the 19th century, as a privileged terroir, where clay-limestone soils, Mediterranean microclimate with Atlantic influence and wind blowing permanently give the wines a great freshness, elegance and balance. The visit will begin in the vineyard, then through the winery and will end in the tasting room, where the wine tasting will take place, overlooking the cellar of the barrels where the red wines of the property are aged. The tasting of 3 wines, will be accompanied by cheeses and regional cured meats.
In the late afternoon, our chauffeur will take you to the city of Santarém, where you will have free time to stroll and get to know this typical Portuguese city. At the top of a plateau, Santarém is a viewpoint over the fertile region of lezíria, the Tejo river valley known for agriculture, cattle breeding and bullfighting art. Visit the Jardim das Portas do Sol and admire the scenery of this natural viewpoint. Look at the Clock Tower from the 19th century, today the Museological Center of Time, and the Church of St. John of Alporão, today Museological Nucleus of Art and Archaeology. Take the trip through the Portuguese Gothic, passing by the Church of Our Lady of Marvila, the Church of Our Lady of Grace and the Church of Santa Clara. Also visit the Church of the Most Holy Miracle.
For dinner, you will have several quality options, regional or gourmet cuisine in the city of Santarém, the option will be yours! However, the program suggests the Pigalle restaurant, located in the historic centre of the city, with a contemporary cuisine based on new flavours and creativity.
Day 3
After a buffet breakfast at the hotel with the best regional products, our guide will pick you up and drive you on the 3rd day of this tour.
The activities will begin at Manzwine, a project based on the historical and wine recovery of the village of Cheleiros, as well as the recovery of the Jampal grape variety, a Portuguese grape, almost extinct, from which they make the only wine in the world 100% Jampal. You will be welcomed at the Old Winepress/ wine shop, starting the visit with a historical setting. The following is the visit to the museum, where there is an explanation about the Terroir and its influence on the characteristics of the wine. The visit will continue in the cellar and the Old School / Barrels Room. It will end with the guided and commented tasting of 6 Premium wines, accompanied by Mafra Bread and 2 extra virgin olive oils.
After the visit, it will be time to participate in a private city tour in Lisbon, with a cultural and gastronomic theme. On the tour in Baixa-Mouraria you will have the opportunity to walk through the streets of this neighbourhood, outside the traditional tourist circuits of Lisbon, so you can have a unique and authentic view of this fascinating place. Among friends, we talk about the origins of Fado, the history, architecture and culture of this part of the city, while getting to know the people behind some speciality shops, taverns and restaurants, places where you will taste the delicious snacks and dishes, characteristic of the daily Portuguese gastronomy. There will be 10 wine tastings and regional delicacies scattered around different locations, which are authentic and hidden gems in downtown Lisbon.
At the end of a day, it will be time to finish the program. Our Chauffeur will leave you in the city centre of Lisbon, hotels or at Humberto Delgado Airport.
