On this luxury wine and food tour, designed by Portugal by Wine, we invite you to discover the Douro Wine Region.
The program of 3 days and 2 nights, includes the visit to prestigious Douro wineries, where you will taste the best wines, cuisine and enjoy unforgettable wine tourism experiences.
The tour starts with the pick-up at Sá Carneiro Airport, in hotels, or in the city centre of Porto. You will be accompanied by a chauffeur specialized in wine tourism, and the entire trip will be in a premium vehicle.
After the pick-up, the trip towards the Douro Valley will be full of stunning landscapes, where you will appreciate the peculiar natural beauty of this route so recognized throughout the world.
In Douro, activities start at Quinta da Gricha, owned by Churchill's, located between Pinhão and São João da Pesqueira, near the village Ervedosa do Douro. You will get to know the property on a guided tour, where you will walk in the vineyards and the historic house built in 1852, with its unique granite presses, where the importance of terroir will be explained, and given the different varieties of grapes used in the production of wines. After the visit, it will be time to taste the typical Douro products at a regional lunch with Churchill's wines.
The next visit will be at Quinta da Roêda, the cornerstone of the distinctive style of the Croft house, described as the jewel of port wine properties. The wines of this property, which contains some of the oldest vineyards in the Douro region, form the heart of Croft's Vintage Port wine lot. You will visit the winery on a route that includes the vineyard, the wine press and will end with the tasting of 4 Port wines, accompanied by toasted almonds.
After the activity at Quinta da Roêda, our chauffeur will take you to know one of the most beautiful points of the Alto Douro, the Viewpoint of Casal de Loivos, where you can contemplate the landscape over the Douro River.
In the late afternoon, it will be time to check in at the hotel. You can choose one of the two wine estates with accommodation that the program offers. The dinner will be regional and chef's suggestion, served in the wine estate restaurant that you choose, and paired with its wines.
You can choose the Wine Hotel da Quinta da Pacheca, one of the best-known units of the 'charm tourism' of the Douro Valley. With the vineyard and wine as inspiration and environment, it is oriented towards gastronomic and oenological tourism, combining the modern and avant-garde image with sobriety and elegance.
Or, alternatively, the hotel of Quinta de Ventozelo, owned by Gran Cruz. Quinta de Ventozelo seeks to value the enormous potential of its property, not only for working on the richness and diversity of its wines, but also for betting on olive oil, wine tourism and nature tourism. After a buffet breakfast at the hotel with the best regional products, our guide will pick you up and drive you on the 2nd day of this tour.
The activities start with a Private Boat Ride on the Douro River, where you will enjoy the stunning and charming landscapes of the Douro Valley. The tour will begin at the Folgosa do Douro river pier in Armamar, where you will board a sailboat and set off on a journey through the Douro towards Pinhão.
The boat trip will stop at several places to visit, the first will be one of the best properties in the Douro, Quinta de S. José, a family project, which has an excellent location, practically on the river and in a hillside terroir, with very particular characteristics. Lunch will be here, consisting of a menu of regional products, suggested by the Chef, and harmonized with the estate's wines. After another boat tour, it will be time to visit Quinta do Bomfim. A property of the Symington Family, it is one of the most beautiful properties of the family, whose presence in the region dates back five generations. You will participate in a guided tour of the winery, vineyards, tasting room and the outdoor terrace with breathtaking views over the Douro. At the end, you will also enjoy a tasting of Symington wines.
For dinner, you will have a table reserved in the restaurant Aneto & Table, camouflaged in the old railway warehouse, next to the train station, is one of the most charismatic restaurants in the region, standing out for its architecture, a breath of modernity and bold lines, with plenty of wood and an incredible cellar. After dinner, it will be time to return to the hotel.

Activities will begin at Quinta Nova de Nossa Senhora do Carmo, a place of extreme beauty, in the heart of the Douro, municipality of Sabrosa, Vila Real. Being owned by the Amorim family since 1999, it has been considered one of the 9 most beautiful wine estates to visit by American Airlines. You will visit the winery, built in 1764, the Wine Museum Centre, the barrel room and the underground wine cellar, where the best lots selected by the family age. After the visit, you will enjoy a wine lunch composed of a 3 Moments menu, paired with Quinta Nova wines, selected by the winemaker.
In the afternoon, you will visit Quinta do Seixo, owned by Sogrape, it is located in Cima-Corgo, in the heart of the Douro Demarcated Region. The breathtaking views are a magnificent landscape, shaped by man on terraces and schist terraces, in a surprising contrast to the brightness of the Douro River and the view of the picturesque village of Pinhão. You will enjoy a tour in the winery, cellar and robotic wine presses, where you will know the wine production cycle and, enjoy a wine tasting, representing the three styles of Port Wine – White, Ruby and Tawny.
In the late afternoon, accompanied by the sunset, we will visit another of the most beautiful viewpoints in the region, the Adorigo viewpoint, where you will have the opportunity to appreciate the natural beauty of the valley and the Douro river.
For dinner, you will enjoy a tasting menu, harmonized, in the DOC restaurant, a space where Chef Rui Paula, an unavoidable reference of modern Portuguese cuisine, awarded with a Michelin Star. With a modern and inventive look, Rui Paula makes the kitchen a historical laboratory based on several generations of culinary recipes. The wine list, with more than 700 references, contains all the great wines produced in the Douro.
After dinner, at the end of the day, it will be time to return to Porto, where the drop-off will be made in the city centre, hotels or at Sá Carneiro Airport.
