Quinta do Vesúvio is a unique and exclusive place in Portugal, in the Upper Douro!
The experience at Vesúvio begins with an unforgettable train trip from Régua station to the stop created, in the 19th century, by Antónia Adelaide Ferreira on her estate. This journey takes us through the heart of the Douro region and, arrives in the Upper Douro for a day that will take us back in time! On arrival at Vesúvio, at about 11:40 a.m, we are welcomed by a welcome drink in the living room of Dona Antónia, with a wonderful view over the landscape.
Then, around 12:00 p.m, we head to the top of the mountain in order to understand why this is the "wine estate of the wine estates", where size and beauty were, without a doubt, the reason Ferreirinha decided this would be her home.
After visiting the vineyard and getting to know the limits of the Upper Douro plantation, we go down to the house for an incomparable wine tasting.
After the sensory part, we go up to the veranda for lunch, where wine and Port will not be missing!
Following a good lunch and, to relax the 5 senses, we depart on a walk to the Vesúvio cellars and the wine presses, where wine is still made in the traditional way.
Quinta do Vesúvio is a place full of history and has a unique cultural heritage, due to the symbolism it represents in the wine culture. This experience is different because the place makes us fall in love with its landscape, history, and wine. Here, as throughout the Douro Valley, the conditions of nature are perfect for plants, but the charm of this place is symbolic for everything it represents!
