Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival
Arrival at Lisbon airport and VIP transfer to Évora - a World Heritage city.
Located in the heart of Alentejo, Évora emanates culture, architecture, history, and peace of mind.
City with more than 2 millenniums of history, its narrow streets evoking memories of the Moorish presence. Definitively conquered from the Romans in 59 B.C., and named Ebora Liberalitas Iulia by them, the city was the stronghold that founded, in Além-Tejo, the formation of the new kingdom of Portugal during the Christian reconquest of the peninsula in the 12th century. In the Middle Ages, it was one of the wealthiest cities in the kingdom. In 1551 the first university was founded here and is still today a symbol of knowledge and youth.

Our team will give you a tour briefing, followed by a warm-up lap, to get you comfortable on your bike.
Dinner will be at the hotel. In case you want to include a guided tour to Évora, please ask us for availability (not included in the price).

Day 2: Wine and Cork
After breakfast, meet our team for another day of cycling.
Alentejo is a renowned wine region, producing wines of exceptional quality, so today we cycle to one of the most famous wineries in the region - The Cartuxa winery, which produces the limited edition wine Pera Manca.
From here we pedal through a region of cork oaks, to learn all about the versatility of cork, a product so dear to the Portuguese.
Today, we suggest you explore the city and its many restaurants, with their traditional gastronomy. We suggest the shark soup or the migas. Delicious!

Accommodation: M'Ar de Ar Aqueduto 5*
Lunch (drinks not included)
Dinner not included
Stage: 60 km

Day 3: Évora - From picturesque to luxurious
Today we say goodbye to Évora and our historic hotel, continuing cycling through the Alentejo plains.
Our bikes will take us to Redondo, in the heart of the region, known for its pottery and quality wines. Be enchanted by the little white houses, decorated on their shutters and windows with colourful bars.
In this village, ancestral techniques are still used to produce the traditional ceramic pieces, decorated with flowers and naif scenes from rural life. Our goal today is to get to Vila Viçosa, known as the Princess of the Alentejo, land of churches, monasteries, chapels, and convents. Famous for its production of high quality marble, this region has over 160 quarries. Tonight your accommodation will be at the Alentejo Marmóris Hotel & Spa, a unique hotel in the world, a true museum dedicated to marble, run by a family that has been working in this business for generations.
Relax in this luxurious atmosphere.

Accommodation: Alentejo Marmóris Hotel & Spa.
Lunch (drinks not included)
Dinner (drinks not included)

Day 4: Fortress City
After a delicious breakfast, today's cycling stage will take us to the fortified city of Elvas, built on star-shaped walls. Its strategic location near the Spanish border made it crucial for the defence of the region. Occupied for many centuries, its historical wealth is revealed, from megalithic monuments to medieval fortresses.
One of the city's attractions is its imposing aqueduct, which you can see in its pedal, built in 1498 and completed in 1622, with a length of 7,800 meters and a total of 842 arches, some reaching more than 30 meters in height.
You will have the opportunity to learn more about the city with a guided tour of the historic centre.
For the next 2 nights, accommodation will be in the historic Convento de S. Paulo, an 18th century building, fully renovated and now a magnificent boutique hotel.
Enjoy this relaxing atmosphere and experience the Satsanga Spa.

Day 5: Between Plains
Enjoy your breakfast, before meeting up with our team for a new day of riding!
The Alentejo region is famous for its vast plains, dotted here and there with cork and olive trees. Admire the beauty of this landscape on this circular ride that takes us to Campo Maior, a typical village known for its Flower Festival, organized by the local people, decorating the village with paper flowers carefully handmade months in advance. Curious, but a bit macabre is the Capela dos Ossos that exists there, built after a tragedy that killed more than 2/3 of the population, in the 18th century.
We will also pass by the Caia reservoir, a perfect spot for a photo, on our way back to the historic hotel.
Enjoy your last night.
