Embark on a tour aboard a sailing boat, where you will sail in the middle of the Tejo river, with Lisbon's best landscapes as a background, while discovering an exclusive recipe prepared by our chef.
This is a great way to get to know Lisbon, through the eyes of three locals (an anthropologist, a fisherwoman, and a chef skipper), in a unique experience, that will make you sail, eat, and drink!
The boat sails from Doca do Espanhol (near the Torre de Belém), a privileged area to explore some of the most famous historical monuments of the city, and discover some curiosities about Lisbon while enjoying some relaxing moments.
Once aboard the sailboat, we sail off Lisbon, glimpsing the old Lisbon neighbourhoods, such as Terreiro do Paço and Alfama, an opportunity to learn about the evolution of the seaport of Lisbon and the city's coastline over the centuries. We give special focus to the old fish markets, once used by the Romans, to produce their famous fish sauce (Garum). We discover the importance of the Tejo river in the battles, empires, cultures, and diversity that the city of Lisbon personifies today.
Accompanied by a Port wine cocktail, our boat trip continues, and we will be able to glimpse the famous 7 hills of Lisbon, with the main emphasis on Graça, the Castelo de São Jorge, and some of the best viewpoints of the city, such as the São Pedro, d'Alcântara and Adamastor.
In order to make the tour as diverse as possible, we sail to the other side of the river. Here, the old port wine, sardine, and codfish warehouses dominate, as does the imposing statue of Cristo Rei, with its gaze over the city. Among others, typical restaurants, some of them hidden, that you can visit later, and a wide variety of street art.
If the weather is inviting, we will look for a quiet place to anchor the boat to sunbathe, relax or even dive.
After the dive, it is the ideal time to start the incursion through Portuguese cuisine and wine. Gathered at the table, we taste a snack created by our chef exclusively for this trip, inspired by the city, the sea, and traditions dating back to Roman times! A rare Portuguese fresh white wine is served to accompany the meal.
If we are lucky, we will see the dolphins, but we can't promise it!
During the meal and with a good conversation about Portuguese gastronomy and wines, the sailboat will slowly approach off the Torre de Belém, the Mosteiro dos Jerónimos and the Padrão dos Descobrimentos, a space dedicated to the Portuguese sailors of the 15th century and famous for its unique architectural features.
With our appetite satisfied, we quietly return to our boarding point while enjoying the wonderful sunset and its reflection on the city. The ideal time to take the last pictures of the tour.
