Vessel: The Arraes
Model Valkvlet designed by Th. Gillissen, built in the Netherlands in 1978 by Van der Valk, has for the last 15 years been owned by a Dutch couple who, once retired, sailed every year during the summer months through various rivers and canals Europe, especially in France.
Now in the Douro River, it was renamed Arraes, a simple homage to the men who, during almost two centuries, crossed the Douro River in command of the Rabelo Boats, overcoming the obstacles, the aggressiveness and the often fatal dangers of a river still not tamed by dams, and few of them remember.
