About the Activity
When visiting the Azores, you can't miss wine tourism activities, in one of the most renowned wineries in Pico, the Cooperativa Vitivinícola da Ilha do Pico - Picowines, and its famous volcanic wines!

Considered “Cidade do Vinho 2017” (Wine City of 2017), the municipality of Madalena, in Pico, has been gaining notoriety and standing out for the uniqueness of its vineyards, distinguished as a World Heritage Site, by UNESCO, in the year 2004, being one of the thirteen wine-growing regions in the world that holds the title of World Heritage.

We invite you to come to the Cooperativa Vitivinícola da Ilha do Pico and taste 9 wines. The tasting starts with white blends, goes on to the local single varieties, moves on to the spicy reds and ends with the famous liqueur wines.

The tasting includes 2 exclusive wines with very limited availability. 
A tolerance of 10 minutes is given regarding the starting hour of the tasting. After this period, the tasting is not guaranteed. It may be possible to take it at the following hour, after confirming availability.

  • Cheese Board: 3 varieties of local cheese, honey and traditional bread - 10 € per person.
