On this luxury wine and food tour, designed by Portugal by Wine, we invite you to discover the Douro Wine Region.
The 1-day program includes a visit to 3 prestigious Douro wineries, where you will taste the best wines, Douro gastronomy and enjoy unforgettable wine tourism experiences.
The program starts with the pick-up at Sá Carneiro Airport, in hotels, or in the city centre of Porto. You will be accompanied by a chauffeur specialized in wine tourism, and the entire trip will be in a premium vehicle.
After the pick-up, the trip towards the Alto Douro Vinhateiro will be full of stunning landscapes, where you will appreciate the peculiar natural beauty of this route so recognized throughout the world.
In Alto Douro Vinhateiro, the activities will begin at Quinta da Gricha, owned by Churchill's, located between Pinhão and São João da Pesqueira, near the Ervedosa do Douro village. Inaugurated in May 2017, with the aim of giving a concept and the company's wine brands, Quinta da Gricha combines its character with the modern comforts that will make you feel at home. You will know the property on a guided tour, where you will walk in the vineyards and at the historic house built in 1852, with its unique granite wine press, where the importance of the terroir will be explained, and made known the different varieties of grapes used in the production of wines. After the visit, it will be time to taste the typical Douro products at a regional lunch paired with Churchill's wines.
The next activity will be in Quinta do Tedo, located in the heart of the Alto Douro Vinhateiro, between the Douro and Tedo rivers, 5 minutes from Folgosa, Armamar, and surrounded by imposing landscapes composed of granite stones, carved like those of the factories. It is one of the most remarkable estates in the region, currently producing Port Wine, Douro DOC wines and olive oil, based on sustainable agriculture BIO. You will visit the winery, winemaking centre and historic cellars, which will end with a tasting of Port Wines paired with regional cheeses.
In the late afternoon and to finish the day, you will eat dinner at Quinta da Pacheca, one of the oldest, emblematic and well-known estates of the Douro region, located in Lamego. You will enjoy a true combination of traditional Douro flavours, in a wine and sensory experience, with a meal under the concept of typical Douro gastronomy, selection of the virtuoso Chef Carlos Pires. Dinner will consist of starter, main course, dessert, coffee, Pacheca selection wines, mineral water and soft drinks.
After dinner, at the end of a day full of wine and gastronomic activities, it will be time to return to Porto, where the drop-off will be made in the city centre, hotels or at Sá Carneiro Airport.
